Bruno dan Sonia, pasangan muda yang hidup di pinggiran hukum, baru saja memiliki bayi bernama Jimmy. Bruno, yang enggan bekerja dan lebih memilih hidup dari kejahatan kecil, membuat keputusan mengerikan: ia menjual Jimmy ke pasar gelap tanpa sepengetahuan Sonia.
